Veganizing your university: How to create a Vegan Student Association

Abstract

The founders of the first Vegan Student Associations (VSA) in the Netherlands will be giving a talk on how to veganize your own university (or workplace, if you are not a student) and how to create a community of vegans motivated to create plant-powered change!

Alicja Jelenska (VSA Groningen), Polly Drabova (VSA Amsterdam) and Elena Freudenberg (VSA Nijmegen) will walk you through what it means to build a Vegan Student Association, why we need more of them and how to tackle a challenging project like this. They will share the story of how it all started in Groningen, what the initial idea and motivation was and how things took off since then. Expect to leave this talk with practical information on how to proceed if you want to become an officially registered association and a look behind the scenes of the VSAs that are already up and running. After the talk, there will be a Q&A session for all the burning questions you still have.
